LIMITLESS, BORDERLESS VISIONS
We live in an age of infinite connectivity, but too many obstacles still stand in the way of creative expression and the way it is shared. One example is Brexit, a historical paradox that has been imposed on our younger generations, who find themselves unable to engage in the kind of educational and cultural exchange between the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe that used to exist.
With a mission entirely focused on the building of cultural bridges, Red Shoes devotes much of its time and energy to the promotion of a wide and diverse variety of educational initiatives. What each course, masterclass, seminar, workshop, meeting or discussion has in common is its 360 degree exploration of our audiovisual world, with a particular regard for new frontiers of art and storytelling. Our initiatives are directed towards anyone keen to learn more about a subject or to refine and expand their exisiting expertise via advanced-level courses.
Red Shoes’ educational area is accessed via this satellite website that includes, among its other sections, a reserved-access hub (The Hub of Projects), where students can post and upload their projects. The area is coordinated by the association’s Educational Manager, University College London film studies docent Ludovica Fales.
An evolving cultural enterprise, Red Shoes – Educational has entered into fertile dialogue with cultural institutions from cinema archives to festivals, film awards, publishers, film studies magazines and other publications, as well as seats of learning such as universities, film academies and schools. We hope to continue to broaden and deepen our partnerships with all those who share our values and our vision.
